Each student will have the opportunity to be our Student of the week. We will celebrate each student by learning more about their families and some of their favorite things.

In addition, they get to take our class friend Cody Coyote home. Cody will be sent home the Friday prior to your child's assigned Student of the Week and must be returned no later than Wednesday during their week. If your child’s week falls before or after a school break, you’ll see a note next to their date indicating the alternate date Cody will come home. Instructions for Cody's visit are in his special travel log in his backpack.

The following is the schedule for the week and what your child should bring to share with the class each day.

MONDAY - Please bring no more than 6 – 8 (4"x6" or smaller) photos/pictures your child would like to share with us (baby picture, family, pets, favorite vacation, friends, etc) so that we can put them up on our Student of the Week bulletin board. The children will share their pictures in the classroom, so please make copies of any special pictures that you cherish and send in the copies, keeping the originals at home. The pictures will stay in the classroom until the end of the year and will be returned in their memory book.

TUESDAY - Please bring a favorite stuffed animal (e.g. teddy bear, panda, etc.) to show the class. This stuffed animal needs to be small enough to fit in your child’s tote bag easily with enough room for their other belongings too.

WEDNESDAY - Please return Cody Coyote to school to share his adventures at your house.

THURSDAY - Please bring a “MYSTERY” OBJECT in an enclosed bag. Please write three clues on the outside of the bag. Please practice with your child, letting them know that they give the clues while keeping the object secret. The item can be anything from a favorite toy to a food item… try to trick us!

FRIDAY - Please bring a favorite book to share with the class. Your child will share with the class what the book is about, why it is their favorite book, and their favorite part of the book. Please practice this with your child and it would be helpful to mark their favorite part with a bookmark or post-it.

We hope that your child enjoys their special week!
