Luckily for you, you get to see me every day! If you have a question about grades, need to turn in a late/absent assignment, or want to inform me of an upcoming absence, it's best to see me in person. For questions about class policies, you might not even need to speak with me. Check out the FAQ page on this website. It contains answers to many frequently asked questions (including information about homework and grading policies). If you need to e-mail me (extended absence, saying hi, etc), my e-mail address is snice@srvusd.net. Please give me 24-48 hours to respond.
Now that your child is in 7th grade, it is essential for him/her to develop effective communication skills. If you have questions about your child's grades, missing assignments, test retakes, or upcoming absences, please have your child speak with me before you contact me. The best time for your child to speak with me about these issues is during AP or before/after school. Also, you should check the FAQ page on this website. It contains answers to many frequently asked questions (including information about homework and grading policies).
Of course, I am open to parent communication when needed. I understand that you probably encourage your child to speak with me all the time, but may need to check-in about whether or not that actually happened. Additionally, I encourage and especially appreciate a heads-up if you think a health or family issue might affect your child at school over a certain time period. The best way to contact me is via e-mail at snice@srvusd.net. I usually respond within 24-48 hours.
If you feel a phone call would be more beneficial, please e-mail me to set up at time for a phone conference. I usually do not pick up my classroom phone while teaching.
An in-person parent-teacher conference can also be arranged. Please e-mail me for availability.
