MVHS
Monte Vista Drumline Clinics
MVHS will be hosting Drumline clinics for 8th graders interested in joining percussion for the marching band next year! There is no experience necessary.
Even if you don't know if you want to join, please show up! This is a great way to meet new faces and get familiar with the music department before next year. It will also help you improve and enhance your talents by working with more experienced people. Many people in Drumline are also involved in other ensembles like concert bands, drama, and choir.
These clinics will be in the Monte Vista Band Room every Tuesday from 4-5:30. If you are interested, please contact Jackie Rogers either by phone at 925-973-9395 or by email at 226497@students.srvusd.net

SRVHS
Do you want to have fun and learn more about music? Are you interested in being mentored by a SRVHS high schooler on your instrument? If you are, the SRVHS Music Mentors Club is here to help! The Music Mentors Club aims to foster an interest in music among children. In our process, we pair up a high school music mentor with an interested student from any of our local elementary through high schools. We hope that this opportunity will allow everyone to explore their passions of music, the mentor to gain valuable teaching experience, and the student to pursue music later in school.
If your elementary or middle schooler is interested in being mentored, please fill out the link below. Before making the commitment as a mentee, please keep the following in mind.
As a music mentee, I will:
Reply through email within a week to my mentor when I receive my music mentor pairing, otherwise I understand my spot will be given to another mentee. I will also correspond within 2 days to my mentor's emails or texts when working out details.
Meet at least 3 times a month either virtually or in person for at least 30 minutes each time with my mentor from the time I receive my mentor assignment to May 24, 2025. Lessons will be held regardless of holidays unless otherwise agreed upon, and I will communicate with my mentor at least two days beforehand if any conflicts come up.
I will show my mentor respect, especially since they are volunteering their own time!
I will practice at least 3-4 times a week for half an hour each time (not including lessons with mentor or school), working on what my mentor suggested to me. This is the only way I will improve and get the most out of my lessons!
*Failure to follow through with these agreements may result in losing your music mentor.
*Due to high demand, we can’t guarantee that every student will be paired with a high schooler.
