AP Japanese exam will be administered at 8 am on Monday, May 2nd in 2022.
October 25, 2021
We may have a limited capacity to add Independent Study Students for some or all exams. Therefore, registration will be first come / first served, based on exam fee submission.
At this time, Advanced Placement exams are set to be administered in-person (not online) during the first two weeks of May. The schedule is set by CollegeBoard (not the school site).
The San Ramon Valley Unified School District is partnering again with Achievement Point Test Service (APTS) to facilitate registration and payment. This process will begin on Monday, November 1st. The timeline is short. The last day for registration and payment is November 5th.
There are TWO steps to order an Independent Student exam:
Step 1:
To initiate an order, go to the SRVUSD AP® Exams for Independent Students site, click on the button for your home school of attendance and complete the payment form to submit fees between November 1 and November 5, 2021 (at 5:00 pm PST). (Students who attend Venture or the Virtual Academy should submit payment through their home campus since they will test with that campus group.)
Step 2:
Students will receive via email within 6-8 hrs of payment submission confirmation the Exam Join Code to apply to their MyAP account at http://myap.collegeboard.org – adding the exam join code to the MyAP account will activate the exam. Students must apply the Exam Join Code to their MyAP accounts by November 5, 2021, to complete the order.
NOTE: CollegeBoard deadlines may differ from those listed here. SRVUSD students need to follow the deadlines on this document.
FEE STRUCTURE: The cost is $125 per exam.
CANCELLATIONS:
Exams canceled prior to November 10, 2021, will receive a full refund minus APTS service fees.
Exams canceled between November 11, 2021, and March 30, 2022, will receive a refund MINUS the $40 CollegeBoard cancellation penalty and APTS service fees.
To cancel email cancel@aptsusa.com and include student name, name of home campus, and exam to cancel

The AP exam registration with a late penalty ends Monday, October 25th. The next phase is for students who are what CollegeBoard considers "Independent Self-Study." These are students who live in the SRVUSD boundaries but are not taking a course with us. We are sending out specific directions about this soon. Registration for self-study students opens November 1st. It is a VERY brief window.
The latest data (.pdf/708 KB) on score outcomes indicate all AP® students benefit from taking both AP courses and exams. By taking AP Exams, students show they can tackle challenging course content and complete college-level work.
Understand that while the exam may be optional, the benefits make it worth a try. Research shows students who take AP courses and exams have better college outcomes than their peers. Even if they don’t earn scores that qualify them for credit or placement, students who achieve AP Exam scores of 2 out of 5:
•Are still more likely to attend college and graduate on time (than academically similar students who don’t take AP).
•Do significantly better in introductory college classes (compared to academically similar students who don’t take that corresponding AP Exam).
•Often earn a higher score on the subsequent AP Exams they take.
This article extends these new findings to real-life perspectives from fellow educators on the impact taking an exam had on their students who didn’t score a 3.
Taking AP® helps students prepare for college and stand out in the admissions process, no matter their exam score. Completing the course and exam shows perseverance to tackle/complete college-level work.
Exposure to advanced coursework increases graduation and college-going rates. Research shows that students who take AP courses and exams have better college outcomes than their peers who don't take AP. The latest findings also indicate the value of scores beyond earning college credit.
Half of students entering four-year colleges are now starting school with some credit from AP courses. Ensure your students are given that advantage.
Use AP Potential™ to ensure every student who shows readiness for an AP course is taking it. AP Potential is available for all schools that participate in PSAT-related assessments.
