Frequently Asked Questions
Q: What is the Math Advancement Program (MAP)?
A: MAP is offered to students who are prepared & motivated to advance in middle school math. MAP is provided to SRVUSD students via Edgenuity, an online, self-paced, rigorous program of math study.
Q: When can middle school students take courses for advancement?
A: Students are welcome to start (& complete) a course for advancement in the spring of their 8th grade year. However, the course will not be put on the student’s high school transcript for credit (a note will be made in the comments section: “math course taken for advancement”, if applicable)
Q: When can a course taken outside the district be added to the high school transcript?
A: If current eighth grade students wish for a summer course to be put on their high school transcript, they must complete the course after they promote from middle school, in the summer after eighth grade. If you are taking Algebra 1 outside of SRVUSD, to meet the CA state graduation requirement, this course must be completed AFTER promotion from 8th grade.
