Supporting active military members and veterans.
The Soldier Support Club is intended to raise awareness and respect for both active members of the United States military as well as veterans within the high school population and in the surrounding communities. The focus is to work closely with but not limited to the local American Legion, Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW), the Veterans Administration (VA), and Ocean County Veterans Services to address the national and local needs of military veterans. The continued support for Southern Regional alumni currently serving will also be a priority for the club.

We are going to be building a database of actively serving Southern Regional High School alumni. One of the most important and meaningful daily events in the military has always been "Mail Call," and with technology it has unfortunately become less common for actively serving military personnel to actually receive hand written mail.
One of our goals is to get letters to those alumni serving on their birthdays, holidays, and even randomly to just show support. To do this, we are going to need the service members:
Full Name (rank is optional)
Unit Designation: "UNIT," "CMR" (Community Mail Room), or "PSC" (Postal Service Center)
The appropriate military address type: such as "APO" (Army/Air Force Post Office), "FPO" (Fleet Post Office), or "DPO" (Diplomatic Post Office), along with the corresponding state code (AA, AE, or AP) and a nine-digit ZIP code.
Birth Date: So that birthday cards can be sent!
Specific Holidays Celebrated: This can differ due to religious denomination/affiliation.
Please email me, Hank Klos, this information directly so that we can tackle this goal in the coming school year at hklos@srsd.net
Thank you all for your support!
SRHS has a US Military salute of names printed on the walls of the 11/12 building. This includes anyone who is a member of our Southern family as well as members of our community at large. Anyone who has served – past and present – will be honored. Use the link below to complete the information.
