5. Brief on the event:
- Srinivasa Ramanujan Institute of Technology has launched a Venture Initiation Center (VIC) to help students start and develop their own business startups.
- This is made possible by the International Institute of Entrepreneurship Development (i2E), an initiative of Andhra Pradesh State Skill Development Corporation (APSSDC) in partnership with Northeastern University, Boston, USA.
- This is one of a series of sixty five (65) Venture Centers that i2E is launching throughout the state of Andhra Pradesh to help promote entrepreneurship on campuses and in the surrounding communities, and inspire students, faculty and staff to approach problem-solving with creative, out of the box thinking leading to a dynamic ecosystem of startups, to help ignite job and economic growth in the state.
- On the occasion of launching the Venture Center, i2E also announced a SmartIDEA Contest, a state wide competition open to anyone with a novel idea or a recent startup to register themselves on the i2E portal (i2e.apssdc.in) for evaluation and selection for prizes and coaching.
- Ideas will be accepted in broad industry sectors, such as, FinTech, AgriTech, Emerging Tech, EduTech, Healthcare, and Consumer Services.Rewards include prizes up to one lakh rupees in seed funding, international recognition and unlimited coaching for the selected ideas.
- The last date for idea submission is December 9th. Final pitches and awards ceremony will be on December 18th in the Amaravati region.
