Spring 2023 Book Recommendations
Rai: Song of Achilles
Description: Song of Achilles is a Greek tragedy reimagined, following the relationship of Achilles and Patroclus as they navigate their love for one another, and a war that may be the end of them. This story is beautifully heart wrenching, and will capture your attention with its masterful writing and engaging plotlines.
Zander: Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Sea
Description: Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Sea follows professor Pierre Aronnax on his journey as a captive aboard the futuristic submarine, The Nautilus, as the mysterious and vengeful crew of Captain Nemo pilots them throughout the different oceans of the world. As Aronnax gets to explore the different wonders and secrets of the world, the novel asks the question of the value of knowledge over freedom, and dives deep into personal as well as worldwide exploration.
Tegan: Good Omens by Neil Gaiman & Terry Pratchett
Description: Good Omens is a book about an angel and a demon teaming up to try and prevent the apocalypse. I like this book because the language is charming and funny, and the concepts are derived from ideas around heaven and hell. Once you complete the book, you can also look forward to a TV adaptation! It’s a fun time!
Conner: Beach Read by Emily Henry
Description: Beach Read is a feel good romance about a romance author who has stopped believing in love. It's got academic enemies to lovers and will have you smiling by the end. Plus, if you enjoy this one the author has several other books to enjoy!
