PURPOSES:
To have the anxiety provoking experience of writing a full-on research paper in an environment where the stakes are lower, you feel comfortable asking for help, you have peer support, and you are less afraid of making mistakes.
To thoroughly investigate Purdue OWL so that you can use it next year and beyond to help you be a better writer.
To learn how to do research and make an annotated bibliography, organize the information, and write a paper.
Research Paper Steps:
Identify and develop your topic. (Topic , Feb. 16)
Preliminary search: Is there enough information? (Research , Feb. 6)
Locate materials (Research , Feb. 6-March 2)
Take notes and organize your information (Research , 2 sources by February 16, 5 sources by March 2)
Evaluate your sources with an Annotated Bibliography (Citation , March 16)
Write your paper (Write , late March)
Cite your sources (Citation , late March)
Proofread & Rewrite (Write , March 30)
