Choir and Band Trip to Disneyland
On Thursday, Feb. 16 at 6:00am, 76 SRHS and ArtQuest music students, 10 chaperones and 2 music teachers (Mr. Decker and Mrs. Tusa) loaded 2 buses and set off on a 4 day trip to Disneyland. Both the Symphonic Band and the Choir performed on the main stage in California Adventure park on Friday. Our music students stepped into the spotlight and dazzled a live audience with a once-in-a-lifetime performance, experiencing the excitement and magic of being a professional performer. Both groups also participated in a Soundtrack Studio experience through Disneyland Imagination Campus on Sunday. They were immersed in a recording studio environment where they sight-read music from Disney films with Disney music professionals teaching and sharing the high expectations of being a professional musician and how to succeed in the field. For the rest of the time, students enjoyed the rides, the experiences, the fireworks, the food, their friends, and all the magic that comes with going to Disneyland and California Adventure. Memories made on this trip will last a lifetime. SRHS Foundation graciously donated $5000 towards the cost of this field trip helping to offset the cost for each student.
Disneyland Imagination Campus offers students a once in a lifetime opportunity to perform in the park and to experience a professional recording studio. Through their unique curriculum and learning environment, they are committed to fostering creative thinking, fearless exploration and, of course, Disney magic. It is their mission to provide students with the tools they need to express themselves creatively and academically and to prepare them for real-world challenges.

RE: Disneyland Park Ticket Purchase Information (for those of you who plan to travel with us)
Hello Choir Families,
In three short months, we will be going on our exciting trip to Disneyland. We need to purchase 3-day park hopper tickets (good for both Disneyland AND California Adventure) for our students and chaperones on December 15, 2022. If you and your family members are planning to travel to Disneyland at the same time with us even if you are not a chaperone, you can purchase your own 3-day hopper tickets at our discounted rate. Our special group rate for guest 3-day hopper tickets is $335/person. This is the same price for adults and children. If you want to get in on this guest ticket deal with us, you must let us know by filling out this google form. Checks can be made out to “SRHS Choral Music Boosters” and given to Mrs. Tusa before the Winter Break by December 12, 2022. You can mail checks made out to “SRHS Choral Music Boosters” to the school by December 12 (SRHS - Attn: Marla Tusa, 1235 Mendocino Ave, Santa Rosa, 95401), or you can pay with a credit card: square link. If you do not reserve your guest tickets with us by Dec. 12 you can still purchase them on your own at a later date, but keep in mind that Disneyland is requiring reservations in advance. Here is a link to purchase tickets on the Disneyland website. If you do not choose to buy guest tickets with us, they will cost $400 for ages 3-9 or $420 for ages 10 and up.
Final payments for our Disneyland trip from all participating students will be on January 19, 2023. After fundraising and the $50 deposit, as of today the total cost per student is $630. This includes bus travel, 3 nights stay at the Castle Inn, 3-day park hopper, a performance in the park on Friday, and a recording studio experience on Sunday. THIS PRICE WILL STILL GO DOWN after our winter concerts and our See’s Candy fundraiser is finished on December 2.
First Payment of $350 for Disneyland trip due Friday, December 9
We are asking all students who are going to Disneyland to make their first payment by December 9. If $350 is a hardship for you right now, please pay what you can. There will be a designated Disneyland Trip payment box at the Choir Concert that evening in which you can leave a check made out to “SRHS Choral Music Boosters”. Please mark “Disney pmt for _____ (name of singer)” in the memo. We need to pay Disney 60 days in advance for our 3-Day Park Hopper tickets and our musical experiences; this is why we are asking you to make a partial payment for our trip.
