AP Biology is advanced and challenging! It is designed to give students a college level academic experience equivalent to a two-semester introductory college biology course for majors.
Research has revealed that students who take AP courses (whether or not they pass the AP exam) are more successful and comfortable academically when they reach the college level!
Some of the skills and habits that help students to be successful in AP courses (and therefore in college) are: a strong work ethic, reading regularly, personal responsibility, curiosity, and strong organizational and problem solving skills.
Because of the increased workload and responsibility for understanding challenging material, it is critical that students are serious about their commitment to this class. This means being prepared and present in class everyday!
