All SRCSA students participate in our school-wide program called "What I Need," or WIN. This program happens everyday for 30 minutes in every classroom. This daily time period allows students to receive specialized instruction to meet whatever academic, social-emotional, or educational need s/he has. For example, this is when our English Learner students receive instruction in English Language Development. This is also when students who have an Individualized Education Plan (IEP) can receive special instruction.
1st grade WIN is daily from 11:45 to 12:20pm. During this time block your child may leave our classroom in order to receive services, support, or extended learning from another teacher or staff member. During this time period, no new content is taught so no student "loses" any core instruction.
For an eight-week period, your child will be grouped with other students to receive more specialized instruction to give him/her what s/he needs to support his/her academic success.
