Credit Recovery: For Fall and Spring Credit Recovery, each course is a semester-long course that meets after-school twice a week, either Monday/Wednesday or Tuesday/Thursday. Students may use this option to recover English or History credits that they previously failed.
Cyber High: A WASC (Western Association of Schools and Colleges) accredited computer-based distance learning program. The Cyber High curriculum is aligned with state standards and includes regular assessments which are also aligned with state standards. Per District Policy, a student can earn up to 40 online credits maximum.
Students at Elsie Allen High School are able to report to a computer lab before and after school to make up credits in core subject areas. A credentialed teacher facilitates the lab. The teacher-facilitator role is to support student questions, guide them to resources within the program and administer the online chapter and unit tests. The facilitator will also ensure that students are successfully completing written assignments integrated into the various courses. Counselors will identify credit deficient students, contact parents and recommend the student’s participation in Cyber High. Cyber High will also be a recommended placement for English language learner students who have been reclassified and are being monitored for two years to ensure academic success.
Summer School: Typically, Santa Rosa City Schools District offers a summer school program consisting of two 3-week sessions, with each 3-week session consisting of one 5-credit course. This is an optional opportunity for SRCS Students in grades 9 -11 and non-graduating seniors to improve an F Grade. Students may attend one or both sessions depending on their credit recovery needs.
Both Cyber High (priority will be given to non-graduating seniors) and classroom instruction courses at summer school require that you attend from 8:00 a.m.- 1:30 p.m., 4 days a week, Tuesday - Friday, for each 3-week session.
