How have you been involved in NHS? (Tutoring, book reading, etc.)

Book reading, high school tours, media center hours, applied to tutor 3 people.

What is the best part of NHS?

Getting to work with kids. I’ve done a lot of coaching (outside of NHS) and realized that I love working with kids and helping them learn new skills.

What is the best experience you've had tutoring?

I love helping students reach that light bulb moment, when everything just clicks for them and they start to get the hang of things.

What are your future plans?

I want to go to college, but I don’t have a specific major I want to study. Most likely Environmental Science or English, but maybe Education.

What else are you passionate about?

I’m passionate about the sports I play (soccer, basketball, and softball), but also music, the environment (I’m part of Sustainability Club), and writing.

If you were a song what song would you be?

Good Things Fall Apart by ILLENIUM and Jon Bellion or Don’t Fade by Vance Joy

If you could have dinner with anyone, who would it be and why?

Jonathan Larson. Hard work and ambition made him one of the biggest names in music. His refusal to turn a blind eye to societal insincerity, fearlessness in pursuit of change, and demand for critical thinking are inspiring. I’d love to be able to speak with him.

How have you been involved in NHS? (Tutoring, book reading, etc.)

I did the book reading, did tours for the public (x2), worked at graduation, and also did a few media center tutoring hours!

What is the best part of NHS?

In my opinion, the best part of NHS is how I am able to be even more involved with my community. Whether it be tutoring, reading at the elementary school, giving tours to the public, or meeting new people while selling water at graduation. I believe that with NHS I am able to feel even more involved with not only the community in AHS but also the community in Arlington as a whole!

What is the best experience you've had tutoring?

The best experience I’ve had tutoring is working at the media center and receiving questions from students!

What are your future plans?

I plan on going to college close to home (not too sure where yet) and I want to study elementary education and make a difference in kids' futures. In particular, I want to work with 1st or 2nd graders!

What else are you passionate about?

I am passionate about participating in clubs at AHS (Bridge Builders, Red Cross Club, Save the Children), playing sports (hockey and lacrosse), and working with young children, whether that be interning in an elementary school, coaching, working at a summer camp or babysitting!

If you were a song what song would you be?

Girl on Fire By: Alecia Keys

If you could have dinner with anyone, who would it be and why?

Serena Williams. I chose Serena because is really inspiring! And I think that she has played a big role in how women are involved in sports!
