Our mission is to support learning, build community and celebrate diversity at South Portland High School. The stories featured here are created by students and staff, for students and staff.
Student journalists are held to high ethical expectations. All reporting is done with the intent of supporting our above-stated mission. Our guidelines include creating original work, citing our sources, checking our bias, denoting opinion pieces as such, and receiving consent from interviewees.
All work is original. On occasion, students may use AI tools to support their work. Examples of acceptable use include grammar/spell check and translating.
This is a student-led publication. Any imperfections and mistakes reflect students' learning and growth as writers. Please respect students' commitment to developing skills through real-world journalism.
