Riot Profile: Cadence

Cadence is a sophomore here at South Portland High School and one of my best friends. I first met Cadence back in the day when we were very young, and we’ve been friends for a very long time. For as long as I've known her I've known that she loves to dance. She is still dancing today and loves it. I got the opportunity to interview her from my bedroom where we talked as if we never stopped talking in the first place.

Maria: How many hours do you put into dance?  

Cadence: I do about 20+ hours of dance every week

Maria: What’s your favorite part of dance?

Cadence: My favorite part about dance is being able to set all of my problems aside and just live in the moment.

Maria: What's your favorite ballet to perform? 

Cadence: My favorite ballet to perform would be The Nutcracker or Swan Lake because they're so magical. 

Maria: How long have you been doing ballet? 

Cadence: I’ve been doing ballet for 12 years

Maria: What was a moment when you were proud?

Cadence: I was proud when I was able to perform in Swan Lake as a swan corp.

Maria: Where's your favorite place to perform?

Cadence: My favorite place to perform is Merrill Auditorium

Maria: Do you see yourself doing dance in the future?

Cadence: Yes, I do see myself having dance in my future.
