Welcome message

Welcome to the school year of 2020-21, my name is Mike Owens and I have been teaching Physical Education for 15 years. The last 9 years here at South Portland High School. While we will all be encountering new challenges I am very excited to get back to work and to see new and familiar faces.

In addition to my work in the classroom I also coach the varsity baseball team. I have also coached football and girls indoor track in the past at South Portland High School. Coaching the teams here at SPHS the past 10 years has been rewarding and I really enjoy working with the students inside and outside of the class room.

In my personal life, I am married to my wife Meghan and we reside in Portland. We have 2 children, my son Cooper is in 8th grade and my daughter Keeley is in 4th grade. We enjoy being active in various sports and outdoor activities. My hobbies outside of school include Golf, Skiing, being on the lake or at the ocean.
