Math Block 2 (Under Construction!)

About This Class

Due to our current schedule, we will be combining Math and Science class. This will be your second class of the day! During most in-person classes, we will focus on Math for most of the period, and finish with some Science instruction and an activity that we will finish the next day online. On distance days, we will have a 30 minute Synchronous class on Google Meets to review the Math and Science lessons from the day before. During the 45 minute Work Time, you will be able to work independently (or in groups) on the Science activity we started in-person, and some math skills that will support our understanding of the current topic. We will stay on the Google Meeting during Work Time, so you can easily get help, or ask questions that myself or other classmates could answer!

All assignments will be posted on Google Classroom. The link to your classroom and the class code are at the bottom of this page.

Course/Class Expectations...

• Grading: All in class and remote work will be reviewed and used as formative and summative assessments for the learning targets and be reported in the Habits of Work grade.

• Attendance: Attendance during my class will be expected every Monday,Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday (Unless you are not feeling well). Wednesday you do not have class scheduled with me, but are welcome to email me or join a Google Meeting if you need any help!

• Participation: Participation in class will be reflected in Habits of Work scores. The Open Up Math program is based around Whole group/ small group discussion, so participation is crucial for learning! Even if you only share your thinking with me or one other classmate, your understanding will improve.

• Preparation: Preparation will be reflected in Habits of Work scores. To be prepared for class, you will need: a pencil, a notebook, your iPad, a calculator, and a positive attitude!

• Assignments: All work for this class will be posted on Google Classroom, and will be shown by their due dates on the google calendar above. Passing in assignments on time is important! Late work will be reflected in Habits of Work scores.
