For Community Partners

We partner with businesses in the Greater Portland Area to help engage students in independent learning opportunities outside the classroom.  Students have a wide variety of options to design a plan that fits their interest and goals.  Businesses work as mentors to help mold students in developing 21st Century Skills and gage interest in specific career pathways.

Why should our businesses participate?

Any businesses interested in working with South Portland High School as a host site for students please reach out to the following people:

Community Partner Expectations

Our partners should be willing to help educate students in their career interest field.  They should act as mentors guiding and supporting students through the learning process.  Mentors should provide safe, appropriate, and productive activities for out students to partake in.  Our partners should act as supervisors while at the host site and communicate regularly with the ELO Coordinator of the students progress.

Community Partners will be asked to sign the students's Design Plan and Liability forms before the ELO experience can begin.
