Common tech issues and solutions

I have an app that is stuck loading

I can't write or draw in Notability

This Notability issue is pretty common when people use an Apple pencil or other paired stylus and then try to go back to a regular stylus or finger.

My keyboard isn't working:

Try a power reboot:  Hold down the power button and home button at the same time. Keep holding until the power goes off and keep holding until the Apple logo appears. You could be holding for 1-2 minutes... once the apple logo appears you can let go. This fixes the connection between the keyboard and iPad in most cases.

My screen is slow to respond or is not responding (stuck)

Same as the keyboard fix above...

My charger isn't working:

Don't throw it out! Email Mrs. Davies to schedule a time to bring in your broken charger for a replacement.

Lost Charger:

If you lost your charger you will have to replace it. You can purchase one from the school ($15 cable / $15 block) or purchase one on your own.

I can't find an app I am looking for:

Some apps are pushed to student iPads through the Self-service app. If you are looking for an app that is not on your iPad, open the Self-service app and see if you can find it there. If the app is not in Self-Service, email Mrs. Davies.Tip: using the search feature on your iPad only shows apps that have been downloaded and will not search for ones in the Self-service app.

I don't know my password:

See the directions above on this page for help with passwords.

My iPad screen is damaged:

Email Mrs. Davies to schedule a time to have it replaced. Make sure you back everything up first (see below).

My iPad isn't charged:

It is each student's responsibility to charge their iPad at home so that it has a full charge to start the day. If your iPad is not charged, you may ask your teacher if there is one you can use in the classroom or you may ask permission to go to the Learning Commons and use the charging station. If your charger is broken or lost see the steps above.

I am not receiving emails from my teachers:

Your teachers may have told you they sent you an email but you did not receive it. Please check your "Spam" folder in your school email account. For directions please click here: Check Spam folder on iPad

If you use any of the following apps you should be backing them up to Google Drive on a regular basis. Click HERE to get help with backing up your files.

Self Service

The Self-service app on student ipads has many apps you may use for your classes. If you can't find an app on your iPad, open Self-service and look there!

Sometimes Google Classroom can experience technical issues, like not loading a page or docs not submitting properly. The good news is that by trying a few steps one can get it working again.
