Dance concentration students will perform regularly in class for their peers and for the public. Students perform in a minimum of two full concerts a year. In addition, students perform at many community events and school assemblies.
Students have the opportunity to work with a variety of dance professionals during their time at SASA. Guest artists regularly visit SASA to give master classes, as well as attending master classes through Michigan Youth Arts Festival and other field trips. Students are introduced to a variety of styles and teachers, including university professors, working professionals, and choreographers.

At SASA, we pride ourselves in producing high quality work. Dancers adjudicate yearly for Michigan Youth Arts Festival. Our pieces have been chosen not only for the festival annually, but to perform on multiple occasions in the Gala Celebration. Students also have the opportunity to participate in other adjudications and competitions during their time in the dance concentration.
Through commitment to offering our students real life experiences students have the opportunity to attend a variety of field trips each year. Students have attended performances, festivals, university tours, college expos, and many other opportunities.
Dance students strive for excellence in their art form. Through hard work many students are inducted into the National Honor Society for Dance Arts. Students have also been recognized for many other state and national awards through various competitions and adjudications.
Being a part of the SASA Dance Concentration means being a part of a family. One of the most important aspects about our class is building relationships and friendships that last a lifetime!
