Each school year, all teachers at Springville will be learning about a different standard from the National Association for Gifted Children (NAGC). At the beginning of that school year, teachers will be taking a survey asking about each standard portion and if teachers feel like they are at a 1, 2, 3, or 4. A "4" would be that the teacher does this standard regularly and without help. A "1" would be that the teacher does not do them at all. The same survey will be given at the end of the school year to assess how effective our professional development has been, and also how the teachers have grown through the school year in the specific NAGC standard. Please see below for some past work on the NAGC standards.
During this school year, in addition to the professional development, teachers will be encouraged to sign up for a "Differentiation Collaboration Cycle" with the Talented and Gifted Program Coordinator. These cycles will be focused on differentiation in curriculum planning and instruction. A one-question Google Form will be sent out each month to ask Springville teachers if they would like to participate. This is separate from the Instructional Coach's Collaboration Cycle.
Springville teachers will have the opportunity to meet with the TAG Coordinator in a Differentiation Collaboration Cycle. A Differentiation Collaboration Cycle is a period of time where the TAG Coordinator and the classroom teacher work together to develop ways of effective differentiation in-class. These collaborations happen at any grade level and in any subject.
If you would like to collaborate with the TAG Coordinator, Mrs. Stoll, please contact her at astoll@springville.k12.ia.us.
Springville teachers have worked on Standard 4: Learning Environments as their focus topic / standard. You can find the work that was done this year on this website.
