I was a stay at home mom for about 13 years and recently I decided to go back to school and get back into the workplace. I currently work as a Secondary Math and Science Teacher Substitute in Kent, WA.
I received a Bachelor's of Science from UC Davis in 2001 in Evolution and Ecology (emphasis in animal behavior) and Physics, in addition to completing a year of graduate school in physics. I recently obtained my Professional Masters in Biotechnology and Masters in Teaching for secondary math and science. (Credentialed in Oregon and Washington state.)
I am well versed in laboratory and scientific procedures as well as use of safety equipment for physical science and life science labs. In addition to my excellent technical skills, I am also have experience in people management and teaching. I have taught children with autism, in a Title 1 middle school as a general science teacher, and college level science. I have also been an office manager, in which I had to help hire individuals and train them on their job requirements.
I like to watch sci-fi movies, read books, photography, painting, hiking, traveling, and spending time with my family and friends. I have brown belts in Hapkido and Tae Kwon Do, 2 cats, and a dog.
