LEARNING PLAN MEETINGS
Please let me know in advance (24 hours minimum notice) if you will not be able to make a meeting so we can reschedule. Missed meetings will be rescheduled at a time and place convenient to me due to having to arrange child care, etc.
Meetings will last approximately 1 hour. An agenda will be emailed to you prior to the meeting so that you can be prepared for our meeting. It will give all pertinent information for the month, including important dates and reminders.
At each meeting we will review the previous month’s work as well as plan & brainstorm for the coming months. We will also discuss student progress & any questions/concerns that you have.
Please be ON TIME and PREPARED for our meeting. This means having attendance completely filled out and ready for review as well as having the LP closeout form completed PRIOR to your meeting time.
I will send an email meeting reminder the week prior to our meeting. Please read it carefully and respond promptly to confirm our meeting. This email will contain a reminder of any specific items you need to bring or tasks to complete before our meeting.
THE 3 BASIC KEY PAPERWORK COMPONENTS FOR SCS
There are 3 basic pieces of paperwork that the state auditors look for within our homeschool program. The idea is that all 3 pieces should match. The auditors want to see that what was planned at the beginning of the month was completed and documented.
1. Learning Plan (LP): completed by the ES (with help of parent input on LP Closeout Form) in OASIS at the beginning of each Learning Period. This document shows all work to be completed.
2. Daily Attendance (WPR): completed by the parent in OASIS each school day. This shows that the daily work matches the planned/mapped out work that is documented on the LP.
3. Portfolio Samples: completed by the student in order to show work that matches the LP as requested by the ES.
INADEQUATE PROGRESS
There are 3 ways to be considered for inadequate progress:
1. If you fail to reschedule a missed meeting within 3 school days, inadequate progress will be marked for that learning period.
2. If a student has not made adequate progress, inadequate progress will be applied for that learning period. Adequate progress means that at least 100% of the work that is expected each learning period must be complete. Adequate progress also applies to the quality of the work, meaning that 100% of the work may be complete but the work completed is of poor quality and does not show any progress or learning.
3. If a student cheats on an assignment in any way, such as copying answers or another student’s work, plagiarizing, copying a paper from the internet, having someone else do your work, etc., inadequate progress will be applied for that learning period.
1st Inadequate Progress – you will receive a letter in the mail from student records regarding the inadequate progress.
2nd inadequate progress marking = dismissal from River Springs.
After the 1st inadequate progress, we will need to meet again within 10 days, instead of the regular 20 days, to evaluate the student’s work. If adequate progress still is not shown, the student will receive his 2nd inadequate progress and will be dropped from the school.
