All students enrolled in the Homeschool program of SCS are given Instructional Funds (sometimes also referred to as Flex Funds) to use throughout the year. The ES & parent work together to decide how funds will be used.
Funds are allotted as follows:
K-8: $ 1,250/year
High School: $ 1200/year
How to Spend:
Order online at Bookmart & have books shipped directly to you.
Anything not on Bookmart: Go to Akademos (TextbookX) through the SCS website & have books shipped directly to you.
Order anything not found on those sites, through a vendor by filling out your ES' Google Doc for Materials or Services (See "Ordering Materials & Classes" tab).
Instructional Funds can be use on items such as:
Curriculum (no religious materials)
Field Trips (ordered through Bookmart)
Basic School Supplies (listed in Bookmart)- Limit of $70.00 per student per year (not including ink)
Printer Ink (limit of 2 inkjet cartridges per student per semester with a maximum of 5 per family- whichever is less). The maximum for toner cartridge is 1 toner cartridge per family, per year.
Paper (limit of 4 reams/student per year)
Activities (tutoring, lessons, classes, etc) through any of our approved vendors
Note:
Property of: Everything ordered does belong to SCS and needs to be returned (unless consumable) upon your resignation from the school and/or at year end if you finished with the item(s).
There is a $300 (total) limit for all consumables that are used for non-core subjects. Within this $300 limit a maximum of $75 can be spent on supplies that are used for an end product (ie: art projects, scrapbooking, etc).
