Mrs. Hood teaches the Symphonic Band as well as the beginner Flute, Oboe, Bassoon, Clarinet and Saxophone. Carley Hood is in her 14th year of teaching band. She is an alumnus of Spring High School, is a graduate of the University of Houston's Moores School of Music, earning her bachelor's degree in music education in 2010. While at the University of Houston, Carley Hood performed in the MSM Wind Ensemble where she studied under Eddie Green, Tom Bennett, and David Bertman. In 2012, she went on to earn her Master's degree in clarinet performance from the University of Houston. Carley returned to her roots in Spring ISD, where she is currently in her 13th year of teaching at the very middle school where she first discovered her love for the clarinet. Carley resides in Tomball, Texas, with her two children, Marshall and Liam, and her supportive husband, Justin.
Ms. Effler teaches the Concert Band as well as beginner trumpet, horn, trombone, euphonium, tuba, and percussion.
This is her second year at Twin Creeks MS and her third of teaching band.
Ms. Effler is a 2023 graduate of the University of Houston with a bachelor's in Music Education. During her time there she performed with the Spirit of Houston Marching Band and Cougar Brass Basketball Band. She is a current member of the Spring ISD Alumni band.
