The Emergent Bilingual Empowerment Summit was developed by Spring Independent School District’s Multilingual Department as an action step to address the identified areas of improvement for our Emergent Bilingual (EB) students during the 2019/20 accountability year. The areas of improvement were EB graduation and dropout rates.

During the summits, which are held at the middle and high school levels, we not only provide our students with pertinent information on how to be successful academically, we also work to develop the intrinsic motivation needed to thrive in the face of learning a new language, among other challenges EB students might face.
