Participants will understand and engage in the SISD comprehensive literacy plan of action that is strategically designed to promote a strong literacy foundation for our students and expand our literacy reach across all disciplines. Participants will obtain a deeper understanding of Habits of Discussion, Marzano's 6 Steps to Vocabulary and Talk, Read, Talk, Write. This plan provides educators and stakeholders a clearly-articulated guide to expectations for student growth, roles and responsibilities aligned to our literacy goals, and a central theme of ensuring innovation and equity. In Spring ISD, all teachers have the opportunity to learn about reading behaviors that support increasing our students’ overall academic performance.
