Important Tools

Google Classroom - All SMS teachers use the Google Classroom learning platform to share lesson information and assignments digitally.  Students have a Google Classroom for each of their teachers.  Sixth-graders are responsible for checking the "Classwork" tab for each of these Google Classrooms daily and submitting their work through this learning platform.  Please don't be shy about asking your child to show you all of their Google Classrooms.  Here's a quick tutorial to learn more:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IgS-hoSIjnw

PowerSchool - This is Springfield Local School's digital grade book and our best way of communicating your child's current academic progress.  Not only will you see the overall grade your child is earning in each class, but you can click on those grades to see scores and comments for individual assignments.  There is a web version that is linked below and bookmarked on your child's Chromebook, but you can also download the app on your phone.  (The code for this app is on the district homepage.)  If you do not have a PowerSchool account currently set up, please follow the instructions linked on our district homepage or contact the SMS main office.   PowerSchool is the best way to monitor your child's progress, view their graded work, and read feedback directly from SMS teachers.  https://springfield.ps.nwoca.org/public/home.html

School Chromebooks 

All SMS students and staff members are given a school-issued Chromebook to use to complete assignments, check grades, and communicate with one another.  Please review the guidelines below on caring for the Chromebook.
