A 404 error, when accessing the Sponne Dashboard (and other Sponne related systems, for students), occurs when Google Chrome, is logged in/ synchronised with personal @gmail account, as you can see in the image (right).
The most efficient way to resolve this, is to create a seperate browser profile, signed into the @sponne account, for your child to use.
Google Chrome is recommended to use with all Sponne School IT-based systems.
It is important to make sure the browser itself is logged into the correct account, particularly if a device is being used by multiple students, or multiple people with Google/ Gmail accounts.
This should be done on ALL devices a student is likely to use; smartphone, tablet, laptop or desktop!
See the image (left) for how to access this panel.
As you can see, it is possible to have Google Chrome with profiles for different users, whether they be different @sponne.org.uk accounts, @gmail.com accounts or @googlemail.com accounts.
This is essential to prevent errors accessing our systems.
Plus to prevent siblings accidentally accessing the wrong profile/ account information within our various Sponne systems such as Gmail, Classroom & Drive.
More help, from Google, can be found here;
On mobile devices;
Load Chrome
Click the "3-dots", top-right
Click settings
Click the account currently named (this will be at the top, under "You and Google")
Click "Add account to the device"
Use the Sponne email address and password given.
After that point, when accessing any Google related systems on the device, it should prompt you with a dialogue box, asking which profile you wish to use.
