• Amount:  $500---6 scholarships available with opportunity to renew scholarship

Charles L. Bacon Memorial Scholarship

Amount:  $750

1. Must be a member of The American Legion Family, i.e., Legion Member, Auxiliary Member,

S.A.L. Member, or a descendant* of any member thereof.

2. Be a resident of the state of Missouri.

3. An unmarried dependent under the age of 21.

4. Must be attending an accredited college / university as a full-time student.

5. Consideration for scholarships will be determined annually for high school graduates in NEED of

financial aid to attend a college / university.

6. Scholarship must be used in the first fall semester of a college / university following graduation from high school.

Erman W. Taylor Memorial Scholarship

Amount:  $750

1. Must be the descendant* of a veteran having served 90 days on active duty in the Army, Air Force,

Space Force, Navy, Marine Corps or Coast Guard of the United States, and having an honorable discharge. A copy of the veteran's discharge or separation notice must be submitted with application. The copy must show the date the veteran entered service and the date the veteran left

service.

2. Be a resident of the state of Missouri.

3. Consideration for scholarship will be determined annually for high school graduates in NEED of

financial aid to attend a college / university.

4. Student must be planning to major in education. A counselor’s statement must be attached. The

counselor’s statement should be on school letterhead, attest to the student’s ability and desire to

major in education or a related field, and must be signed by the school counselor.

5. Scholarship must be used the first fall semester of a college / university following graduation from high school.

Joseph J. Frank Scholarship

Amount:  $750

Eligibility: 

1. One boy who has attended a full session of Missouri Boys State or Missouri Cadet Patrol and one

girl who has attended a full session of Missouri Girls State or Missouri Cadet Patrol.

2. Lillie Lois Ford Scholarship

Amount:  $1,000

Two awards; to a boy who has attended or been selected to attend American Legion Boys State of MO or a full session of the Department's Cadet Patrol Academy and to a girl who has attended or has been selected to attend The American Legion Auxiliary's Girls State program or a full session of the Department's Cadet Patrol Academy.

M.D. "Jack" Murphy Memorial Nurses Training Scholarship

Amount:  $,1000

1. One applicant planning a career as a Registered Nurse. The scholarship must be used in the first fall

semester upon completion of high school.

2. Must be the descendant* of a veteran having served 90 days on active duty in the Army, Air Force,

Navy, Marine Corps or Coast Guard of the United States, and having an honorable discharge. A

copy of the veteran's discharge or separation notice must be submitted with the application. The

copy must show the date the veteran entered service and the date the veteran left service.

3. Be a resident of the state of Missouri.

4. Shall be an unmarried dependent under the age of 21.

5. Must be attending an accredited college / university as a full-time student.

6. Consideration for scholarship will be determined annually for high school graduates in NEED of

financial aid to attend a college / university.

7. Applicant must graduate in the top 40% of his / her class.

8. A counselor's statement must be attached. The statement should be on school letterhead, and attest to

the student’s ability and desire to major in nursing, certify that the student is in the top 40% of their class, and be signed by the school counselor.

Shane Dean Voyles Memorial Scholarship

Amount:  $750

Application should be returned to the Counseling Office. Each school in the State of Missouri may nominate one student to be considered for the award; a nominee will be selected on athletic, scholastic and leadership abilities; the nominee should be deeply involved in community and school activities; must use the award as a full-time student at an accredited college or university.

BigSun Scholarship

Amount $500

All student-athletes are eligible regardless of the sport they are engaged in or the capacity in which they participate. The student must be a high school senior or be attending a post-secondary institute. Please remember to include your name and the name of the school that you are attending.

• How did your participation in sports during your high school years influence you?

Spokane Highlandville PTO Scholarship

$500

Eligibility Requirements:

• Be enrolled full-time as a high school senior at Spokane High School

• GPA of 3.50

• Volunteer for a minimum of 10 hours at PTO-sponsored events throughout the school year

• Submit an essay detailing the importance of community involvement

• Complete application
