Forest School
Garden Days
Baking Goodies
It’s hard to believe how quickly August has flown by — and even harder to say goodbye to summer! We wrapped up the season with a month full of connection, creativity, and cultural adventures.
We kicked off August with a cheerful garden visit, followed by a vibrant start to our Folklorama celebrations alongside our school-age friends from CC. The Wolves proudly showcased their Zumba dancing skills and took part in beautiful Colombian flower-arranging activity. Midweek, we headed to CC to explore Japanese culture — enjoying tasty noodles, learning valuable life lessons through storytelling about rice balls and selflessness, and we tried our hand at crafting samurai hats (jingasa). Domo arigato, CC friends! To close out the week, we welcomed everyone back here for an exciting journey through the Australian Outback. We bounced like kangaroos, grooved to the didgeridoo dance, decorated our own boomerangs, and delighted in classic fairy bread. It was truly a g’day and a g’week all around!
The following week brought a temporary change as we spent some time without Andria. Still, the energy remained high with garden visits and splash day fun, keeping us refreshed and smiling. We also enjoyed a special trip to the library, where we returned the books we had borrowed last time and picked out some new ones to explore. We also spent some cozy time baking delicious cinnamon rolls together. The little ones helped to bake and they were so proud to taste the sweet results of their hard work. Of course, no summer would be complete without water fun—our splash day in the courtyard brought endless laughter as the children ran, played, and cooled off under the warm sun.
We ended August on a high note with two immersive weeks of Forest School — an experience that truly let our Eagles spread their wings. Highlights included riding the bus, creek and bridge explorations, bug catching, flower picking, tree climbing, tent naps, and building an enchanting fairy house. It was a beautiful blend of independence, imagination, and outdoor learning.
As we bid farewell to a joyful summer, we’re also preparing to say a bittersweet goodbye to some of our Eagle friends who are moving on to new centers. While we’ll miss them dearly, we’re also excited to welcome new faces and begin our transition back to indoor learning.
Here’s to the memories we’ve made, and the adventures still to come.
