We believe that Design and Technology education is more that simply passing and exam. We are committed to developing young designers who have a passion for Design & Technology in which ever 'field of design' that they are passionate about. The curriculum we offer is designed to develop skills, knowledge and understanding in the fields of Graphic design, Product Design, Textiles and Food Preparation and Nutrition.
In year 7, 8 and 9, all students study Design and Technology as part of their curriculum. All students have four 50 minute lessons per fortnight and these are usually allocated as one double lesson (100 mins) and two single lessons (50 mins each). In each academic year students study Graphics, Textiles, Product design and Food Preparation as part of a carousel. Each unit is approximately 8 weeks long and comprises of a design and make Activity (DMA) delivered along with technical knowledge and understanding.
