The content to be learned in Product Design will include

Produce solid model, which meets design criteria.
Prepare presentation & present ideas.
Produce a prototype of final design.
This course provides students with the opportunity to use the cumulative knowledge of all the previous CADD coursework by providing the vehicle for problem solving through creative design. Students will be challenged to design a product within a specified design envelope with established deadlines. They will follow the design cycle by engaging in research, sketching, evaluation, and production of a solid model. Students will be required to give a presentation with a specific set of criteria for a critical evaluation. Upon completion of this course students will be proficient in the following areas:
Understand the design cycle as an effective operational model for good design.
Know the importance of research as a sound foundation for purposeful design ideas.
Know how to convey, evaluate, and revise ideas through clear sketches.
Understand the significance of maintaining an up-to-date record of all documentation pertinent to a project.
Be able to anticipate flaws early the design process and institute changes accordingly.
Produce watertight solid model, which meets design criteria.
Prepare presentations that utilizes models and/or multimedia application.
Produce a prototype of final design.
