Grundy Center Schools Therapy Dog Program
Grundy Center Schools Therapy Dog Program
Laz is Grundy Center Elementary's certified therapy dog. Every school day, he helps students feel safe, confident, and ready to learn by supporting reading, emotional regulation, social connections, and positive school experiences.
Whether he is greeting students in the morning, listening to a child read, visiting classrooms, or providing comfort during challenging moments, Laz reminds us that every student deserves to feel known, valued, and supported.
This website shares the history of our therapy dog program, research on the benefits of therapy dogs in schools, training resources, policies, and practical information for families, educators, and school leaders.
We invite you to explore how therapy dogs can strengthen school communities—one paw at a time.
