Settimana Sei, Learn and Play!
Student wellbeing is a sustainable state of positive mood and attitude, resilience, and satisfaction with self, relationships and experiences at school. It is important, especially during our current situation, to take time to participate in activities that promote this. Below you will find a number of activities that you may wish to utilise throughout the Remote Learning period when needed.
Don't forget to have a look at the whole school wellbeing page for support with your child's and family's health and wellbeing needs:

Visit the Smiling Mind website to access Digital Care Packs to support kids through COVID-19 and beyond.
These Care Packs provide tips and guidance on how to build positive mental health in children, and offer a range of simple, evidence-based activities that can be used with children aged five to 12 years to provide immediate relief against worry and anxiety, or used to support a proactive positive mental health approach. Each pack explores related topics and contains downloadable activities for children.
Young children experience feelings and emotions just like adults, however, they often don’t have the vocabulary to accurately express how they are feeling at any given time and find it hard to navigate these emotions. Mood trackers are an easy way to track how children (and adults) are feeling every day over a period of time and provide an opportunity for discussions around why they are feeling a certain way.
Choose a template and colour each of the circles at the bottom of the template a different colour.
Write down some of the main emotions you feel.
Each day, decide how you are feeling and colour one item to express this emotion. This should be done at approximately the same time each day.
At SPA, we always begin each term with SWELL Day. 'SWELL' refers to 'Student Wellbeing'. Take the time today to notice how you are feeling and prepare your body, mind and spirit for another term of learning.
Prepare your own daily organiser to help get your organised for each day of learning. Use the template that was mailed out to you in your learning pack, or create your own to suit your needs.
(If your learning pack has not arrived yet, you may do this activity later on in the week).
Which one are you most like in each of these scenarios?
How are you feeling about Remote Learning this time around? What might you improve on from last time to make sure you are being the best learner you can be? Discuss and then write your response.
The 'Headlines' thinking routine encourages children to imagine they are writing a newspaper headline that summarises or captures the essence of a particular idea.
Draw or list some things that happened during your holidays. Use these to help you create a headline for your holidays.
See the teachers' headline below.
Listen to the story 'Miles of Smiles' and complete the follow up activity.
