Southwestern's annual Research & Creative Works Symposium is a celebration of the work of students showcasing academic accomplishments. The presenters develop critical thinking, leadership, and time management while preparing for the event date. The Symposium includes poster presentations, art exhibits and performances, panel discussions, and oral presentations.

This year, in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Research & Creative Works Symposium will be a virtual experience.

  • April 3rd: Complete form indicating your participation in the virtual Research and Creative Works Symposium.

  • April 14th by 5pm: Students will upload their posters to the RCWS Google drive or email them to RCWS@southwestern.edu. (directions here)

  • April 20th-24th: Participants can log into the Virtual Research and Creative Works Symposium.

What will a virtual Research and Creative Works Symposium look like?

Instead of hosting RCWS on one day, we will be extending the virtual conference online for an entire week. During that time, SU community members can visit the site, view posters or videos, and share feedback with the authors.

We are recommending that all students share a poster of their research or creative work. However, we are offering limited opportunities for students to host a live presentation or upload video. We ask that you work with Ben Belz (Belzb@southwestern.edu) to coordinate any video presentations.
