Background

For my U.S. Environmental History course, our professor asked us to create a blog post on an environmental issue we were passionate about, where we summarized the history of the issue before its current notoriety. We were also introduced to the Radical Hope Syllabus, a sustainability organization that hosts a website displaying student blogs on similar concepts. For my original work, I decided to report on the North Dakota Access Pipeline controversy, including the colonial American-Indian treaties that informed its' political development.
