Crisis Care   (210) 223 SAFE (7233)

The Children’s Crisis Unit helps Bexar County residents between the ages of 4 and 17 who experience significant mental health issues. The Crisis Unit takes referrals from schools, law enforcement, mental health facilities, hospitals, and local mental health partners. A family may also bring a child in on a walk-in basis for immediate crisis concerns.

Behavioral Health Services  (210) 261-3350 Intake and Eligibility

By working with schools, parents and others involved in children’s lives, we can identify and treat behavioral health disorders early. By addressing problems, we can help a child learn how to manage his or her illness, prevent costly crises and enable the child to get on track with peers, achieve academic success and lead a productive, independent life.

Early Childhood Intervention Services (ECI)  (210) 261-3300

Though every child learns at a different pace, sometimes they encounter conditions that pose developmental delays. The Center for Health Care Services ECI program provides assessment, therapy and other assistance you need to help your baby and your family learn to navigate around the challenges.

Healing Hearts Kinship CARE Program  (210) 261-3560

Foster families provide primary or respite care for children who need a safe, stable environment. Your consistent, caring presence and skilled teaching can help reduce trauma and help a child return to healthy, productive growth.

The Children’s Bereavement Center of South Texas (CBCST) is so much more than a place where grieving children come to heal. We change lives. Recognizing the permanent impact loss can have on young people, the CBCST was established to help children and families grieving the death of a loved one. In a culture that does not talk about grief and bereavement, and in a world that doesn’t “get it,” we do.

This is a reminder for adults and kids during these uncertain times. Focus on things you can control to ease the burden of those you cannot. Try creating your own Circles of Control to de-stress.
