We have been fortunate to have Mr. Duffy present to our Spring 2020 cohort of MEN to share some sample interview questions and strategies on how to respond to such questions. One strategy he shared was the S.T.A.R. Method. (Situation, Task, Action, Result).
The S.T.A.R. Method is a strategy used to respond to behavioral-based interview questions. Below are some common interview questions for all jobs. Practice how you would respond using the S.T.A.R. Method.
Your response to behavioral-based questions should include 4 aspects that can be remembered using the acronym STAR.
Situation: Set the scene and provide necessary details
Task: Describe your responsibility in the situation
Action: Explain what specific steps you took
Result: What outcomes did your actions achieve
