Oct 15th Student Room Assignments
The Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT) provides students with an opportunity to evaluate the skills needed for success in college-level courses, prepare for the SAT, and, for juniors, compete in the National Merit Scholarship Program.
Carroll ISD will cover the cost and automatically register all 10th grade students that attend Carroll High School to take the PSAT on October 15th during the school day. 11th grade students may opt to take the exam for a fee.
Payment and Registration for 11th grade students:
To register your 11th grade student for the PSAT/NMSQT, you will have to pay the $24 registration fee. Payments can be made through TOTAL REGISTRATION . Registration will open Aug 29th. All registration and payments must be made by 11:59pm on September 22th. Click the link to begin.
Information for Test Day:
The PSAT will be administered digitally using the Bluebook app, which must be installed on your device before test day.
Please make plans to arrive by 7:45 and check Library windows for your posted room assignment.
Room assignments will also be emailed the week before the exam.
Bring the following items with you:
School-issued or district approved device with the Bluebook app installed. You will not be able to test without it!
Snack, water, and lunch. You may bring your own or purchase a sack lunch. Lunch will be eaten after testing has concluded.
Calculator. Students must bring their own calculator. Be sure to check the College Board Calculator Guidelines to ensure yours is approved. College Board Calculator Policy
*Effective for the August 2025 SAT Weekend administration and the October 2025 in-school SAT and PSAT-related assessments testing window, calculators with CAS functionality will no longer be allowed for tests within the SAT Suite of Assessments.

Receiving Your Scores:
Your scores will be available in late November and can be found by logging in to your College Board Account.
