If you can't access pay stubs, please let your case manager know. They can provide information on other Employment Verification options that may be available.
I’m receiving unemployment. Can I still apply?
Yes, you may still qualify if the floods affected your food and beverage (F+B) income. We will need documentation of your unemployment benefits to determine the amount you receive and when those benefits will end. Please indicate that you are receiving unemployment when completing the application.
I wasn’t eligible. Can I still be considered later?
Eligibility is based on criteria designed to prioritize those most impacted. If your situation changes, or we reopen the application with new criteria, you may reapply.
I was terminated from a job in the past year. Am I disqualified?
If you were terminated (not laid off) from a previous employer in the last year, this may impact your eligibility. We review each case individually, so we encourage you to still apply and provide context.
As an employer with multiple employees who may qualify, whom should I contact?
Please email casemanagement2@southernsmoke.org expressing your desire to expedite the verification process for your employees. Be prepared to provide their start dates, the average hours they worked weekly over the past six months, and their position.
