The Gulf Coastal Environmental Engagement Center (GCEEC) is pleased to announce the launch of our second Request for Proposals (RFP) for the competitive subaward program. This initiative supports locally driven projects that advance water quality, habitat restoration, and community resilience across our coastal region.
This new round of funding will expand our support for efforts that align with GCEEC’s mission—empowering communities to implement impactful, place-based solutions that deliver measurable benefits to the Gulf Coast.

The GCEEC proudly participated in the Partners for Environmental Progress (PEP) 25th Annual Membership Meeting and Awards Ceremony, held on September 25th in Mobile, Alabama. The event honored the impactful contributions of local businesses and organizations while commemorating PEP’s 25-year legacy—a quarter-century dedicated to advancing environmental sustainability and promoting responsible industry practices along the Gulf Coast. Since its inception, PEP has cultivated collaboration among businesses, industries, and the broader community to drive meaningful and lasting environmental progress.

Dr. Shenghua Wu presented a talk titled “Turning Gaps into Opportunities: Collaborative Action for a Sustainable and Resilient Gulf Coast” and highlighted the role of GCEEC in supporting coastal communities.
