Description

The simulation instructional strategy is an attempt at long-term retention of knowledge with simulated experiences that reenact reality. This learning strategy can be either student-centered or teacher-centered. Simulations can be drawn close to the actual experience that is trying to be learned.

Advantages

• Simulation is an experiential learning method that statistically has better practitioners (Caniglia, 2019).

• It can be used for all levels of teaching and learning. It can be customized to the learning needs of each individual student.

Disadvantages

• Simulations can have a false perspective by having simple environmental influences instead of the real thing.

• The set up is costly with the hardware and software and will be costly for maintenance and upkeep of the equipment.
