What you will experience during the SIE

Ballet Class

Participate in an elementary-level Ballet Technique class led by teachers from the Dance faculty. You can prepare for this by practising different Ballet class exercise combinations (e.g. from online dance classes).

Contemporary Dance Class

Participate in an elementary-level movement class incorporating various Modern Dance styles (e.g. Graham Techniqeu) with improvisation led by teachers from the Dance faculty. You can prepare for this by practising learning different Modern Dance class combinations (e.g. from online dance classes).

Individual Interview

Have a conversation with the interview panel comprising teachers from the Dance Faculty, who will ask questions to find out more about you, your strengths, and interests. 

Panel Interview

A group of applicants will participate in conversations with the interview panel comprising teachers from the academic faculties. 

Online Questionnaire

No preparation is required. There are no right or wrong answers to this activity. 

Preparation

Practise Dance Exercise 1 and check that you get stronger, more flexible and gain more control each time you practise. 

Practise learning different exercise combinations in Ballet and Contemporary Dance (e.g. from online dance classes)

On the Dance Audition Day

Come with an open mind; be ready and willing to try the activities prepared for you at the audition. 

Be dressed in the appropriate dance gear and be neatly groomed.
