I started working in inner-city Nottingham way back in 2005 and my first class as an NQT was in year 3, which came with its whole host of unique challenges. I stayed there for three years, branching out into a year 3&4 mixed class and learnt lots of skills that I still use in my teaching today.
After that, I went into supply teaching for a year and worked in every year group imaginable! I taught in EYFS all the way up to year 6 and I picked up more techniques and ideas that I thought I might want to apply to a full-time job again.
As a result, I did a long-term supply placement in inner-city Leicester for another year (confirming to me that I was ready to go back into the classroom full time with a class of my own) and I settled down for four glorious years in Thorpe Acre in Loughborough.
Wanting to move on and further my career I then went to Burton-on-the-Wolds where I spent nine years teaching from year 4 all the way up to year 6 in my final few years.
I was a teacher for nearly 20 years in total and loved it but the time has now come to try my hand at something slightly different. I want to apply my skillset to still helping children but in a much more personal, relaxed but still enlightening, educational way. Tutoring seemed like an obvious next step for me - giving me ownership of my lessons where I can meet the needs of each of the children in my own way and provide them with the skills they need to progress at later primary and early secondary school.
If you entrust your child into Mr Dale, Tutoring, then I can assure you I will push them as hard as they can be pushed and they will leave my sessions better equipped in whatever subject they have been put in for.
