NXT

Our first project with NXT was a pitching and batting machine. This project taught us the introduction to programming with NXT and how to build a compatible robot. These are the beginning to end picture of our robot.

Our second project working with NXT was a Mars Rover. In this project, we had to create a rover that could be either remotely controlled from Earth or autonomously move from Mars.

In this project we created a robot that would follow a black line. This project taught us how to use a light sensor. This system was also used in a project where the robot had to follow a water trail.

In our final project, we created a bomb disarmament robot. This was personally my favorite project. By this project, I had a good understanding of how to code with NXT and build a solid bot. It was a good culmination of this subject.

robotics analysis

I believe that the autonomous versions of all of the NXT bots were robots. After gaining more knowledge about robotics through NXT, my definition of what a robot is has changed. Now, I believe that a robot must work autonomously in order to be considered a robot.
