Coaches' Responsibilites
Provide for the general welfare, safety, health and well-being of each athlete in their charge.Â
Have copies of athlete applications on hand at all times.
Be thoroughly familiar with all information in this Info Guide.
Dress and act at all times in a manner which will be a credit to Special Olympics Northern California and the delegation.Â
Report all emergencies to the proper authorities after taking immediate action to ensure health and safety of participants.

Attend all meetings as scheduled.
Refrain from possession, consumption and use of alcohol, tobacco, or illegal drugs at all times.Â
Follow the intent and spirit of established duties, rules, and responsibilities established by Special Olympics Northern California and Special Olympics, Incorporated.
Provide the following specific services to the athletes:
Supervision 24 hours a day
Ensure that credentials are worn at all times
Account for luggage & personal items
Get to meals on time
Report to competition areas on time
Ensure that prescribed medications are taken on time
Keep track of awards & souvenirs
Abide by the Coach's Code of Conduct.
Head of Delegation (HOD) Meetings
Thursday, June 27th, 2024
The HOD meeting for HODs and Coach/HODs will be held from 6:30pm – 8:30pm in Headquarters. On Thursday night, HODs will stay where their delegations will be housed in the residence halls. At the meeting, HODs will receive all final delegation information. This meeting will also give each HOD the opportunity to meet the Games Management Team and discuss the details of the Games.
There will be a Venue Walk-through for all HODs on Friday morning. Please meet at the Tennis Courts at 9:00am on Friday, June 28th, 2024. Your tour guide will be Julie Rodriguez and the Venue Directors will explain each sport/activity at their respective venues.
On Saturday, June 29th, 2024 at 8:00pm there will be an HOD meeting in HQ to answer any questions or address concerns and review check-out procedures for Sunday.
Check-In Process for Resident Halls
All HODs will pick up your delegation's room keys and parking passes (must have been previously requested) at Graham Hall.Â
All scratches are due to HQ (Leavey Center) before it closes on Friday Night.Â
You must turn in their credential, housing key and scratch them off the housing sheet accordingly. The housing sheet will be included in your HOD packet.Â
