Healthy Athletes
Located near Flag Football Field 1 and Fan Zone, on Saturday, November 4th, from 11:00am-5:00pm, athletes will have the opportunity to receive FREE health screenings. SONC Healthy Athletes will offer Health Promotion, Opening Eyes, Strong Minds and Special Smiles!
Health Promotion provides tips on how to improve and maintain good health and sports performance and athletes will receive fun giveaways to help promote wellness.
Opening Eyes provides vision exams and will dispense appropriate eyewear including prescription eye glasses if needed.
Strong Minds provides relaxation and anxiety training to help maintain emotional wellness and athletes will receive fun giveaways that support the Strong Minds training.
Special Smiles provides dental examinations, personal oral hygiene instruction, a free toothbrush and sport mouth guards as needed to help prevent dental injuries.
Each screening takes about 20-30 minutes and all are non-invasive.
All competing athletes are automatically pre-registered for this event.

EVENT CHECK IN/CHECK OUT
CHECK-IN INFORMATION: When athletes arrive at Healthy Athletes they need to check-in at the registration desk before visiting the Healthy Athlete stations. At the registration desk the athletes will receive a lanyard with a passport that will be used to check in at each of the stations. When athletes complete a Healthy Athletes station they will get their passport marked off and when finished, the athletes can turn in the passport at the check-out table for a prize.
CHECK-OUT INFORMATION: When exiting the Healthy Athletes Pavilion, return your passport to receive a prize!
Athletes who complete 1 screening will receive a Special Olympics Oath Sticker
Athletes who complete 2-3 screenings will receive 2-3 Healthy Athletes Pins
Athletes who complete all 4 screenings will receive a Healthy Athletes Medal
Re-entry is allowed but athletes must turn in their passport upon exiting. Their passport will be made available to them again at Check In if they indicate they are planning on returning.
