The information below is for the 2026-2027 school year.  

• • The SHS Counseling Department seeks to accurately place new students in their English and Math courses. 

  • All new students are required to take a math placement test.

    • Note:  for students transferring from an Ohio school district, we may use math end of course test scores in lieu of math placement testing (dependent upon what the last math class taken was). 

  • Students who desire to take an Honors English course are required to take an additional test. 

  • Please complete the Placement Testing Form and review the information below.  We will reach out to you to schedule the exact date and time.

  • Testing will be completed IN PERSON at Solon High School.   Allow 2 hours of testing time per test (this varies for students - it is based on test(s) that are being taken).

  • If you test any time after August 14, 2026, you will NOT be starting school on the first day (August 19, 2026)
